Meet LedgerSlip: A Private Receipt Scanner Built by a CPA

At Ascensus CPA, I work with business owners, sole proprietors, freelancers, and self-employed individuals who run into the same problem over and over again: receipts pile up, supporting documents get scattered, and bookkeeping becomes more stressful than it should be.

That is exactly why I created LedgerSlip.

As a CPA, I built LedgerSlip to give business owners a simpler, more private, and more practical way to organize receipts and stay ready for bookkeeping and tax season. Instead of relying on bloated workflows, monthly subscriptions, or apps that may send data to third parties for analytics or marketing-related purposes, LedgerSlip was built to keep things clean, useful, and private. The app stores information locally on your device, does not collect data according to Apple’s App Privacy section, and is designed to help reduce year-end chaos.

Why I Built LedgerSlip

One of the most common issues I see with clients is not a lack of spending records, but a lack of organized support. The receipt exists somewhere, but it is buried in a camera roll, lost in email, sitting in a glove box, or mixed into random folders. When that happens, bookkeeping becomes messier, year-end takes longer, and it becomes harder to maintain clean records.

I built LedgerSlip to solve that problem directly. It gives users one place to capture receipts, keep the supporting image tied to the transaction, organize expenses in a practical way, and export cleaner information for bookkeeping and tax support.

A More Private Alternative to Typical Receipt Apps

Privacy is a big part of what makes LedgerSlip different.

A lot of receipt apps rely on cloud-based processing, third-party integrations, tracking, or data sharing behind the scenes. LedgerSlip takes the opposite approach. I built it so your receipt information stays with you, not sent out to third parties or outside services that can contribute to analytics, marketing profiles, or constant ad targeting.

That means more control over your financial information, more peace of mind, and a cleaner experience for users who simply want to manage receipts without wondering where their data is going.

What LedgerSlip Does

LedgerSlip is designed to make receipt management faster, cleaner, and more useful in the real world. It lets you:

  • scan or import receipts quickly

  • keep receipt images connected to the related details

  • organize expenses with practical categories

  • review and update categories anytime

  • export clean, accountant-friendly records

  • identify vendors from receipts

  • categorize transactions to reduce manual work

  • learn from your edits and categorization patterns over time

  • upload receipt photos directly from your iPhone photo library

  • review receipts in full screen with pinch-to-zoom support

Built for Real-World Bookkeeping

LedgerSlip is not meant to be flashy. It is meant to be useful.

I built it for people who want cleaner books, better recordkeeping, and less stress when it is time to hand things over to their accountant. It is especially well suited for sole proprietors, freelancers, self-employed professionals, and small business owners who want a more organized way to keep supporting documentation throughout the year.

Instead of leaving receipts buried in a photo album, forgotten in an inbox, or tossed into a folder to deal with later, LedgerSlip helps keep everything connected and accessible in one place.

No Subscription Pressure

Another part of LedgerSlip’s value is that it is not built around a recurring subscription model.

LedgerSlip is available for a one-time purchase of $3.99 CAD, with an optional LedgerSlip Pro one-time upgrade for $2.99 CAD. LedgerSlip Pro adds multi-currency receipt support along with foreign currency detection and conversion.

That means users can get a practical, privacy-focused receipt management app without being pushed into yet another monthly fee.

Why I Stand Behind It

I built LedgerSlip based on a real problem I see with real clients. Better bookkeeping starts with better records, and better records start with having receipts organized, accessible, and connected to the actual transaction.

LedgerSlip was created to make that easier in a way that is private, practical, and genuinely useful. It is a tool I believe in because it solves a problem that business owners deal with all the time.
